Aux Anysetiers du Roy began as a beloved restaurant on L’Île Saint-Louis near Notre-Dame, known for its Provençal cooking and grilled meats seasoned with fragrant herbs. At the end of each meal, guests were offered a keepsake: a small crock of Herbes de Provence blended by owner Louis Lombard, who was the first to include lavender flowers in the now-classic mix. That heartfelt gesture inspired the creation of an entire line of specialty foods packaged in charming clay and stoneware pots.
