Leave the sewn end of the band on the splint which goes beneath the foot. Insert big toe between the cushion and the concave part of the splint; the cushion should cover the bunion joint. Lead Velcro band around outside of foot and through slot in splint on top of foot. Pull to adjust corrective tension. Fold back onto itself and press together to secure. Adjust band tension so that the big toe is gently moved toward realignment. Initial wear should be limited to no longer than 30 minutes. After a few such uses, you should find all-night wear to be comfortable. A light sock reduces interference with sheets. Gradually increase band tension, moving toe in the direction opposite its bunion position, without causing discomfort. Results will vary depending on the severity and nature of your bunion. Be patient. Continued use of the Regulator will lead to less pain and discomfort and possibly a reduction of your bunion deformity. Care: Because of its durable construction, the Regulator will be effective for months. To cleanse, hand wash in lukewarm, sudsy water.
