"We would normally use these polyethylene bags as sandbags in Japan, but in India, they are used to carry grain until they are torn and then they are recycled to use again. We thought about using these as one of our items but unfortunately the leftover odor of the recycled bags was too strong. We ended up taking the white cylindrical bags, adjusted the depth, sewed the bottom, added handles and made it into a new bag. The official Puebco store in Tokyo gives these out to customers as a gesture of appreciation for coming to our store but what was used as a customer's shopping bag became a popular item in itself. The quality of the product is not consistent and varies based on the circumstances of when it was made.
